UCB Community Advisory Board Meeting
Wednesday, July 02 2014, noon

Location: Grand Aleutian Hotel, Cape Cheerful
Contact: Lauren 581-1888

It's time again for a Community Advisory Board meeting. The CAB meets twice each year to evaluate programming and help our board of directors confirm whether or not we are fulfilling our mission as a community station. We are seeking interested individuals to attend a luncheon on us. Our CAB is run as an informal discussion group, and this meeting will be lead by Matt Lightner. If you would like to join us, please RSVP to lauren@kucb.org or give us a call at 581-1888.

When you RSVP Lauren will send you a copy of our current schedule and you should make time to look over current programs and think about which shows are most important, what new kinds of programming you would like to hear, and think of suggestions for improving local shows. We would LOVE it if you would take a few minutes to talk to your friends about their likes and dislikes, and come to the meeting prepared to share your thoughts.

What is a Community Advisory Board? A group that gets together to review programming and provide input on community needs. We also ask our CAB members to gather opinions from other community members and advise as to whether our programming meets the specialized educational and cultural needs of Unalaska. The common trait for board members should be an interest in community broadcasting. Community advisory boards play an invaluable role for stations by acting as a conduit for information, bringing it from corners of the community that staff members don’t normally access. You can also help us with outreach by bringing information about our station and services back to your network of friends, colleagues and co-workers who might not hear about KUCB otherwise.
