UNALASKA CARES ACT GRANT PROGRAM DEADLINE
Monday, June 22 2020, noon

UNALASKA CARES ACT GRANT PROGRAM: The City of Unalaska received funds from the CARES Act passed from Congress through the State of Alaska to assist local communities, local businesses and nonprofit organizations who have been impacted from the COVID-19. Today the City opened an online portal to accept pre-applications from businesses and nonprofit organizations for funding from Unalaska’s share of CARES funding. Eligible businesses must have a City of Unalaska Business License issued before March 12, 2020, which is when the City opened its Emergency Operations Center in response to the virus. Nonprofit organizations must demonstrate they existed prior to that date. Businesses should apply here https://arcg.is/0a5rzi; and Non-profit organizations should apply here https://arcg.is/0S1jSa. Paper applications are also available in the vestibule at Unalaska City Hall.
This is a pre-application that is being generated by Unalaska City Council’s desire to rapidly assist businesses struggling from COVID related issues, including compliance with state and local health mandates. It does not guarantee funding. The pre-application period closes this Monday, June 22, 2020, at 12:00 noon. The City Council will review staff recommendations for the funds at its meeting on Tuesday, June 23, 2020 starting at 6:00 pm. Businesses and organizations who may be eligible for other CARES Act or FEMA related funds may wish to apply to those sources first, otherwise applying for local CARES Act funding may cause the business to be ineligible for those funding sources. If a business has already received funds from FEMA, Payroll Protection Program or the Economic Injury Disaster Loan Emergency Advance (EIDL), they are eligible for the City CARES funds.
