The Halibut Derby is back! The Department of Parks, Culture, and Recreation along with Pacific Stevedoring Incorporated is holding the 4th of July Unalaska Halibut Derby. This wonderful event will fire off at 6 am at the beautiful Carl. E. Moses Boat Harbor. Fishermen and Fisher-women will have the chance to take home the big cash prize! All participants must check in before heading out to fish. Only 1 fish per boat and all fish for weighing must be back at the Carl E. Moses Boat Launch by 4 pm. The prizes will be given according to gross weight. The champion of the halibut derby will have their name along with the weight of fish marked on a rolling trophy.
