Thanks to D. Tyrell McGirt for these results from the Kenai Swim Meet. Participating schools included Colony, Homer, Kenai, Palmer, Seward, Skyview, Soldotna, Unalaska, and Wasilla.

Five boys (Donald Ballou, Lucio Howard, Kei Kawada - Captain, Gabe Kochuten, and Dylan Magnusen) and five girls (Amber Le, Delanney McConnell, Marjamae Pili, Maren Sunderland, and Amber Vernon – Captain) from UCSD traveled to Kenai for the annual invitational swim meet September 21^st. Each swimmer was allowed to compete in two individual events and two relay events. Six out of ten Raiders finished in the top half of both their individual events. Two other Raiders finished in the top half of one of their individual events.

Runners Get Colorful for Breast Cancer Awareness

This past Sunday, members of the community supported breast cancer awareness by participating in the first ever Unalaska 5K Powder Run. It was a perfect day for walking or running in the sunshine, and according to IFHS Executive Director Eileen Conlon Scott, about 177 individuals participated, including women, men, students, children in strollers and backpacks and an uncounted number of dogs. Students volunteered to throw color powder at the runners as they passed various stations along the way, resulting in a very colorful group by the end of the event.

On September 15th, some beautiful original music was heard at the Burma Road Chapel. Sarah Peacock, who is based out of Nashville, performed her last of three shows in our community to an appreciative audience.

Assault
Saturday 31 December 2016, 1:25 a.m.
Officers responded to a report of an assault at a local drinking establishment. Investigation revealed that three individuals assaulted the bouncer at the bar. Dane Hulbert, 30 yoa, charged with Vehicle Theft I and Hindering Prosecution. Nicholas Jordan, 28 yoa, charged with Assult 3. Chad Tyndall 32 yoa, charged with Assault 3 and Assault 4.

Drunk disturbance
Sunday 25 December 2016, 3:14 a.m.
Officers were flagged down by a taxi driver who was having a dispute with a fare. The fare was upset because he believed the driver was insulting him. The driver just wanted the drunken customer out of her taxi. Both parties went their separate ways.

Assistance Rendered
Tuesday 27 December 2016, 11:17 p.m.
Caller reported that one of “Unalaska’s Most Wanted” was currently at his place of employment. The “Most Wanted” individual had already been arrested on his warrant and was no longer “Most Wanted.”
